Gyoza Dipping Sauce

This Gyoza dipping sauce, in particular, is perfect because it’s so simple and quick to make, which means you can whip it up whenever you want. Once you have the ingredients in your kitchen cupboards, then you can make it as often as you wish.

Initially, I didn’t plan to share this recipe, thinking it might only attract a few views. But it seems we share a common passion for the irresistible, Gyoza dipping sauce! So, here’s a recipe that I’m sure you’ll love.

It is SO versatile. You can use this as in ramen by adding it to some bone broth, and add a few more seasonings of your choice. I already have a straightforward ramen recipe on the website, which you can check out for some ideas. You can also use it as a glaze for pork belly for a little barbecue side dish, to fill a bao bun, or simply to dip tasty homecooked gyozas (Itsu do some nice frozen ones now!). It is so deliciously salty and zingy you can tailor it however you want by adding or taking out the spice. Tasting a little bit after each step can be helpful so you can flavour it yourself, or if we have the same type of tastebuds, then this recipe should work for you as it is.

You can use it typically to dip gyozas in to glaze pork belly for the barbecue (this is one of the best ways to use it), or you can add it to a ramen!

Ingredients

  • 5tbsp soy sauce

  • 3tbsp rice wine vinegar

  • 1tsp sesame oil

  • 2 tsp honey

  • 1/4tsp ground coriander

  • 1/4tsp ginger

  • 1tsp chilli flakes

Directions

  • Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl, top with chilli and serve!

Notes

  • TIP: You can also use fresh chilli and 2 spring onions and sesame seeds to make a chunkier gyoza dip!
